Government Pharmacist — Hospital / PHC Dispensing
The pathSkills
The main government line open to a Pharm.D by default: dispensing and store pharmacist in government hospitals, PHCs, and CHCs — stock, cold-chain, and dispensing, recruited through state exams (UPSSSC, GSSSB, SSC). Be clear-eyed: this is not a clinical role. It's a stable, pensioned dispensing post for which a Pharm.D is over-qualified — your clinical training goes largely unused. Anchored to the 7th Pay Commission (primary source).

Common questions
No. Government "pharmacist" posts are dispensing/store roles — there is no widespread sanctioned clinical-pharmacist cadre in Indian government hospitals. If ward-based clinical work is the goal, this is not it.
